National Committees

The main function of National Committee is to promote, coordinate and recommend funding of research programme to be taken up by the institutions in the country on basic and applied research, action research, and other areas related to research in the areas of Soil Mechanics, Foundation Engineering, Rock Mechanics and Tunneling Technology, Concrete Technology Construction Material Structures.

Two national committees namely:

· Indian National Committee on Geotechnical Engineering (INCGE)
· Indian National Committee on Construction Materials and Structures (INCCMS)

are based in CSMRS

These committees have now been merged to constitute a committee name Indian National Committee on Geotechnical Engineering and Construction material (INCGEM) vide order No. 37/1/208- R & D/5706-08 dated 5th September, 2008.
The new Committee Under Chairmanship of Member (D & R) Central water Commission has a total 15 members and have its Secretariat at CSMRS. The Secretariat is under administrative control of Director, CSMRS, Who Has been Nominated as Permanent member of the Committee. Joint Director, CSMRS is the Member Secretary of the Committee.
